Make sure you take your GPS with you when you visit this charming area as locals have voted Briarcliff as the subdivision in which you're most likely to get lost, due to the winding roads that service the area. Driving west from Austin on State Highway 71, to reach Briarcliff, you would turn right on Pace Bend Road (FM 2322) and take it to the entrance on Briarcliff Drive. While you might get lost driving in Briarcliff without a GPS, one can understand why the roads twist and turn so: it's to ensure that each lot is unique to the land it occupies, and provides the best vistas and use of space for each home whilst guaranteeing privacy for the homeowners. The large size of this subdivision guarantees that there's a little something for everyone in Briarcliff: homes range in price from the $150s all the way up to the millions of dollars, depending upon the home’s respective location to the lake.
Even though most homes in Briarcliff do not have direct lake access, there is a marina, with over one hundred covered slips, and the restaurant in the marina, the Lighthouse BBQ and Grille serves up tasty food with a fantastic view of Lake Travis. Other nearby restaurants and famous live music venues include Angels Icehouse, JR 5 Steakhouse, and Poodie’s Hilltop Café. While technically located in Spicewood, Texas, Briarcliff is still resident in Travis County, and as such sends its students to the acclaimed Lake Travis Independent School District. Elementary age students would attend Bee Cave Elementary School, middle school students Lake Travis Middle School, and high schooler’s Lake Travis High School.
