Pointe Venture

Point Venture is a resort community located on Lake Travis about eighteen miles northwest of Austin, on the opposite shore from Lakeway, in western Travis County. This lakeside development began in early 1969 when Houston oil man and developer Joel M. Cummings, along with developer W. C. "Bill" Canfield, bought a large tract of land situated on a peninsula known as "the Point" on Lake Travis. Pointe Venture amenities include Dink Pearson Park, a Junior Olympic swimming pool, a fifty acre water front park which has boat launch ramps, covered pavilion, a number of picnic tables, a playground area, basketball court and a nature area, tennis courts, a 163 slip marina with an outdoor floating restaurant, “The Gnarly Gar on Lake Travis” and a beautiful nine hole golf course, The Pointe Venture Golf Club. Properties can be very affordable starting in the $150,000’s with upper end properties valued in the $800,000’s. Pointe Venture is located at the end of Lohman Ford Road which feeds from FM 1431 in Lago Vista.
