The Ridge at Alta Vista
Close to everything, yet somehow secluded is how best to describe The Ridge at Alta Vista. Developed originally by Toll Brothers’ builders in 2005, and now offered by Gehan Homes, homes in the Ridge at Alta Vista---and the townhomes of The Enclave at Alta Vista---are large and luxurious, ranging in size from twenty five hundred square feet for a townhome, and as large as five thousand square feet for a single family home. Situated on a hillside and surrounded on three sides by the Balcones Canyonlands Nature Preserve, the Hill Country views and those of Lake Travis and Lake Austin are hard to beat. Townhomes start in the mid $200s and might reach as high as the $300s, while single family homes in The Ridge start in the $400s and go upwards from there, depending upon whether the prospective owner is building new or not, which is still a possibility as there are lots still available.
Did we mention that the Ridge at Alta Vista is close to everything? We did? Ok, in case you don’t believe us, know that the excellent Lake Travis middle and high schools are, literally, right across Ranch Road 620 from the Ridge at Alta Vista. How’s that for a school run? Elementary school-aged students would attend Lakeway Elementary, inside of Lakeway Proper. Austin’s favorite hamburger joint, P.Terry’s, is two football fields’s distance from the Alta Vista entrance on Aria Drive, and Randalls, Starbucks, the Hill Country Galleria, Target and the Home Depot---just to name a few local vendors---are all within a five minute drive of Alta Vista. But if you don’t want to leave, you don’t have to---there’s a junior Olympic sized pool with a luxurious clubhouse available to all Alta Vista residents, a fitness center, playscape and sport courts, as well.
