Just a few miles east of Mansfield Dam on Ranch Road 620, you’ll find Steiner Ranch, a master planned community built on the remnants of what was once 4,600 acres of ranch land owned by the Steiner family, founders of the Steiner Rodeo Company. Often called, “The Land Between the Lakes,” Steiner Ranch sits on a picturesque piece of Hill Country nestled cozily between Lake Travis and Lake Austin and the Balcones Canyonland Nature Preserve, the largest contiguous nature preserve in the area. The location of Steiner Ranch is ideal for those who work in Round Rock or other North Austin areas, while still remaining outside of the city proper and providing nearby access to the wonderful lakes and trails---and all the activities associated with either.
There are nearly fifty different subdivisions located within Steiner Ranch, hence there is a little something for everyone---from the grandiose homes surrounding the greens and fairways of The University of Texas Golf Club, to the wonderful and sought after facilities of Longhorn Village assisted living facility, and prices range from the mid $200s to well over $3 million. While Steiner Ranch has been in development for nearly ten years, there are still areas of opportunity for those who would prefer to build a new home, while still providing plenty of homes for whom resale is their main goal. Within Steiner Ranch there are three separate community centers---John Simpson, Town Square, and Bella Mar---all of which have their own pools, playgrounds, sport courts, and sports fields. There is also plenty of shopping available within Steiner Ranch, including a brand new Randalls at the corner of 620 and Quinlan Park Road. Students living in Steiner are within the Leander School District. Elementary age students would attend either Steiner Ranch Elementary or Laura Welch Bush Elementary schools. Middle School students would attend Canyon Ridge Middle School, and High School students would attend either Vandegrift High School or Cedar Park High School.
