Austin Business Journal:
Lake Travis has started its own Internet TV station.
Following the trends of online video and hyper-local news, DIB Creative, a Dallas-based agency with an Austin office, has partnered with Legacy International to produce LakeTravisTV.com, a Web site featuring video content on local news, high school sports, lifestyle and business information.
Mat Threadgill, principal at DIB Creative, said LakeTravisTV.com is filling a need for local news and information not served by traditional media.
“There is enough content there to warrant their own TV station,” Threadgill said.
Besides original programming, the online station provides video production services for small and large businesses. That video content is aired on the Web site.
Threadgill said Lake Travis is a test market, and he sees growth potential in other suburbs around Austin, Houston and San Antonio.
LakeTravisTV will be pushing its content through email, Twitter and Facebook.
